Prime Minister Jan Dhan beneficiaries: The government’s Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana has turned 7 years old. This PMJDY scheme from the government has been popular with the public. The number of PM Jan Dhan accounts opened under this system has tripled in a few years. The Department of Financial Services (DFS) has provided this information by tweeting. It is stated in the tweet that there has been a threefold increase in Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana’s accounts. Let’s tell you that the number of accounts has increased from 14.72 crore in March 2015 to 43 crore accounts so far.

Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana: The world’s largest financial integration initiative has opened banks’ doors to the poor and given them new power for the PM Jan Dhan Account Passbook and RuPay cards. Prime Minister Jan Dhan account holders are given a benefit of Rs 2.30 lakh. Accident insurance coverage is given to Jan Dhan account holders when they open an account in any bank. Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana account holders receive accident insurance of Rs 1,000,000 and general insurance of Rs 30,000. If the PMJDY account holder dies in an accident, he will receive Rs 2 lakh. In this context, the Jan Dhan account holder can get up to Rs 2.30 lakh.
How to open an account?
- If you want to open your PM Jan Dhan account, then go to your nearest bank and take the form for it.
- In this Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana form, name, mobile number, bank branch name, applicant address, candidate, occupation / employment and annual income and number of providers, SSA code or department number, village code or city code etc.
- All citizens of India who are 10 years of age or older can open a Jan Dhan account.
