You can also book train tickets by visiting the nearest post office. In fact, Indian Railways has made it possible to book train tickets by post taking into account the facilities and needs of the passengers.
For this special facility, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the company that manages railway ticket booking, took the initiative. Let us tell you that this facility is part of the Railway modernization plan, under which the railway starts facilitating train bookings at the post office in cooperation with the Post Office.
Huge railway initiative
According to the information provided by the Railways, under this special facility, the start starts from Uttar Pradesh where it will be possible to book tickets at about 9147 post offices. This will save people a lot of time, as they will not have to go to the station or their agents to book train tickets. Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated this new IRCTC facility in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh.

Let us tell you that the villagers will benefit more from this special service of the railway. In fact, people living in remote villages and remote locations will also be able to make reservations. Anyone can easily get their ticket from the nearest post office. Earlier, passengers had to stand in long queues at the station for offline tickets.
North Central Railway (NCR) Public Relations Officer Shivam Sharma said the Railway Minister had inaugurated the terminal and coaching complex, including the newly constructed second entrance to Gomti Nagar Railway Station, in a program organized at the of the state. Sharma said he also launched the Gomti Nagar-Kamakhya Express train, the Mailani-Bichhiya passenger train and the Kanpur Central-Brahmavart MEMU train.
