Given the huge amount of multidisciplinary employment in the country, the largest number of registered workers is from the agricultural and construction sectors. All disorganized workers, including migrant workers, can now benefit from various social security and employment-based systems by registering on the E Shram portal.
According to live data, 5.72 million workers have registered on the portal. Of these, about 50.94 percent of the beneficiaries are women and 49.55 percent are men. There has been a weekly improvement in gender-based registration, with male and female workers registering in comparable proportions.

About 65.62 percent of the registered workers are in the age group 16-40 years and 34.38 percent are in the age group 40 years and up. A significant part of the registrations has been facilitated by CSCs (77.66 percent).
The ministry said that in some states like Kerala, Goa, Meghalaya and Manipur, a large number of workers have self-registered on the e-shram card portal. The same is true of most of the Union’s territories such as Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Andaman and Nicobar and Ladakh. This can be attributed to the high level of literacy and use of technology in these areas.
