It states that workers in various professions such as construction, clothing manufacturing, fishing, gigs and platform work, street sales, housework, agriculture and allied activities and the transport sector have registered on the E Shram portal. Some of these areas have a large proportion of migrant workers.

Given the huge amount of multidisciplinary employment in the country, the largest number of registered workers is from the agricultural and construction sectors. All disorganized workers, including migrant workers, can now benefit from various social security and employment-based systems by registering on the E Shram portal.

According to live data, 5.72 million workers have registered on the portal. Of these, about 50.94 percent of the beneficiaries are women and 49.55 percent are men. There has been a weekly improvement in gender-based registration, with male and female workers registering in comparable proportions.

This condition is great

According to the latest information, the states of West Bengal, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh are at the forefront of the initiative with the highest number of registrations, the ministry said. However, it said that this number should be kept in perspective, as the number of workers is smaller in smaller states and trade union territories (UT).

Furthermore, this campaign must gain momentum in states and union territories such as Meghalaya, Manipur, Manipur, Goa, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Tripura. For online registration, individual workers can use the mobile application or the E Shram Card website.

They can also visit the selected post offices of the Common Service Centers (CSCs), State Service Centers, Shram Suvidha Kendras and Digital Seva Kendras from the Department of Posts to register on this E Shram portal. After registration, the unorganized workers will receive a digital E Shram card with a universal account number.

UAN (E Shram Card Registration Portal) will be available in E Shram Card

This E Shram Card Universal Account Number will be acceptable all over the country and they do not have to register in different places to get social benefits. If a worker registered on the E Shram portal has an accident, he will be entitled to Rs 2 lakh in the event of death or permanent disability and Rs 1 lakh in the event of partial disability.

About 65.62 percent of the registered workers are in the age group 16-40 years and 34.38 percent are in the age group 40 years and up. A significant part of the registrations has been facilitated by CSCs (77.66 percent).

The ministry said that in some states like Kerala, Goa, Meghalaya and Manipur, a large number of workers have self-registered on the e-shram card portal. The same is true of most of the Union’s territories such as Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Andaman and Nicobar and Ladakh. This can be attributed to the high level of literacy and use of technology in these areas.

The Minister’s statement

Minister of Labor Bhupendra Yadav, Minister of Labor Rameshwar Teli and senior officials are holding several talks with disorganized workers and union leaders so that they can apply for the E Shram Card on the E Shram Portal. To be encouraged to register and take advantage of various benefits.

At the same time, the E Shram Portal Office of the Chief Labor Commissioner under the Ministry of Labor and Employment also organized a camp for Divyangjan (especially disabled) workers in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and it received overwhelming response. .
